THE ARTISTS’ CAMP – INDO CAMP JUNE 2012

Made Budhiana; I Gede Gunada Eka Atmaja; I Dewa Gede Rata Yoga; I Wayan Wirawan From 2005, 24HR Art initiated a series of artist camps, or residencies, inspired by the Artist in the Field program that was devised in 1979 by the late Colin Jack-Hinton, inaugural Director Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. This particular artist camp was conceived by Colin McDonald QC, who has invited a group of Indonesian artists to interpret the natural landscapes and cultures of the Northern Territory. In managing the project, 24HR Art facilitated journeys through the bush to meet with Indigenous communities at Jutpurra, formally Gregory National Park, Kakadu and Western Arnhem Land region.
