Parliamentary praise for NCCA
The Northern Centre for Contemporary Art was recently praised in parliament by NT Minister of Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss as ‘a fantastic art gallery’ which ‘does very important work … It plays a critical role for contemporary visual arts in the Northern Territory …’ (20 Oct, 2016)
The subject of NCCA’s tenuous funding position was raised by Gerry Wood, Independent MLA, who asked if the Minister could give any guarantee regarding NCCA’s future viability. The Minister did not give any guarantee as such but assured that NCCA’s situation was under consideration.
