Matthew van Roden's  exhibition at NCCA "APOCRYPHILIA" is a queer detonation which, in its wake, clears the way for radical re-orientations. It is the text in a cocktail dress; the body in a hand-stitched and leather-bound bible; the skin as the battleground of suspicion in the quest for a liberating illegitimacy. APOCRYPHILIA is the final exhibition for Charles Darwin University Masters candidate Matthew van Roden. A culmination of four bodies of work exploring wax, text and flesh. Through philosophical reflection, scathing critique and flamboyant self-interrogation, van Roden finds resolution in dissolution and joy in the infinite, possible otherwise.
